Your mileage may vary.Well this mod has been a long time coming. To me, these features justified the cost of the reflash. It would make sense that it does run cooler as increased fuel delivery (to a point) also tends to act as a "coolant" of sorts in an internal combustion engine. Oil temps appear to be a degree or two cooler than stock. It appears to run cooler, per my engine oil filler temperature gauge. Mine does hit the rev limiter at 7000 RPM per my Daytona tach I had some minor "dead" spots from the factory, which were noticeable at part-throttle. Smoother acceleration throughout the entire RPM range. More power (2-3 HP, dyno confirmed) than just with exhaust and filter swap alone No more twitchy on/off throttle response No more harsh engine braking on deceleration Pete has adequately summarized my own thoughts and concerns.įor me, this is what I got when I reflashed: Good service, but his ginormous ivans performance sticker will still ensure that the ecu isnt covered by the warranty.Īs much as I have been an active proponent of Ivan and his flash, I have always questioned why Ivan essentially has re-worded the same couple of benefits to make it sound like you are getting more features, as well. (More relaxed gear changes and throttle modulation at all speeds)įree upgrades when/if we make improvements.ĩ) Return your ecu back to stock at no charge for any reason. Has anyone measured the engine temps to support this claim?ħ) Reduced heavy engine braking on decel. Vague explanation of what this step accomplishes or even addresses. So are we suppose to trust the other claims?ĥ) Anything that compromises performance and/or driveability is eliminated. No one so far has shown this statement to be true. Is the "high rpm timing retarder" the same thing as the rev limiter.if so, then 3 is the same as 4, and we know that 7100 rpm isn't true.Ĥ) Raise rev-limit in all gears to 7100 rpm Same as number 7, so there is 1 thing that i've read from people on this forum that it does disable the fuel cutoff which is also results in the engine braking issue some people cant adjust too.Ī) Gets rid of part throttle timing retarder for more response and less vibration when cruising and moderate acceleration.ī) Gets rid of high rpm timing retarder allowing the engine to make maximum power for longer.Ĭ) Set timing for maximium power and driveability across the entire rpm range & all throttle positionsĭ) Adjust timing to be the same for all gears. What "inherent fueling problems" is he referring too? I see a statement but no explanation of the "problems" that are fixed.Ī) Gets rid of poor throttle transitions from closed throttle.ī) Gets rid of annoying popping and banging during decel and also when re-applying the throttle from closed.Ĭ) Throttle modulation is noticably improved over what can be achieved with a fuel tuner alone.ĭ) Feels buttery smooth upon re-application from closed throttle (in all riding conditions). (the ones that cannot be fixed with an external fuel tuner) Help me understand, because as fathers day and my birthday approach, i dont want to waste a gift on something that isn't holding up to its claims any better than gas station viagra.ġ) Fix all inherent fueling problems inside the ECU. It really seems like he's just reprogramming the fuel cut-off. Below is the list of claims he's made from his website, and after reading them, i'm trying to convince myself this is a worthwhile way to spend my money. what am i missing? Convince me i should spend my money. It reduces the backfire, which my cobra fi2000 also accomplished. Is this something everyone is ok with? I get that it reduces the engine braking (im used to it and utilize it in how i ride), and he still recommends a fuel controller depending on the set-up. So Ivan is falsely advertising what the ECU Flash accomplishes.
